August catch up

Well here I am half way through August and with a heap of photos of some of my pages.

I've been doing very little scrapping since I had my hand operated on but have been practicing with my new camera to try to photograph my pages better.

Anyway here's some of what I've done recently.

I wanted to scrap this photo of my nephew Alex  since I saw it on Briannas facebook page.

I am truly grateful she is happy to share her photos with me, as I am with all who share.

I loved the raised dots on this paper which I sanded over to grunge up the look a bit and add a a bit of dimension.

Finally used a white pen to journal a path through the dots.

This stunning thistle was photographed on our first trip to Cowra in 2004.

I have no idea at all what is is called but love the photo and a search through my paper stash found this great page that suited the colours of it perfectly.

A few butterflies added a bit of bling.

Another photo of Cowra this time taken in 2007 when John and I explored the Japanese Gardens there.

I have completed a few pages of Cowra late as it's such a picturesque place.

The Japanese Gardens are really lovely as is the coffee shop there where Steve met us afterwards rather than take the trek with us.

"Family Together" is another photo compliments of Brianna.

I think it was taken on her birthday 2011.

I love the composition of her and brothers Jacob, Alex and Kayleb all at the table on their laptops with nice big bowls of dessert as an accompaniment.

I used a mix of chip cogs and circles, some ribbon, a bit of tearing and a rub on quote.

The page above and right are a double page I've done for my album simply titled "Home".

I fussy cut the top right corner on page one and mounted it on the second page to tie the 2 pages all in together.

The placement of the flowers at the top of both pages assists in this as well.

When I look at these photos, taken when we first moved in, I see how much the garden has grown and how much more it has become our home.

Have been meaning to scrap these photos of Rowan and Claire for a while and never seemed to find the right paper.

It wasn't until I found the letters for the title that everything tied in together.

This page is simply a page that reminds me of our all great nephews who live away from us and, like our great niece Bella, aren't forgotten even though we don't see them often.

This page was taken at Steve's sister Chris and John's home (at Broadford, Vic) on Easter Sunday this year when we celebrated Steve's Dad's 80th birthday.

The photos show all siblings, cousins and spouses who were there on the day, along with Dad and Pat in the top photo. Most had a bit of a way to travel.

I kept this page pretty simple, inked the bottom half ot the letters to tie the colour in, did a bit of tearing, fussy cut the edges of a couple of flowers and lifted them up onto the photo and added a bit of clear bling for effect.

Another very simple page here of one of my favourite childhood scenes.

I have wonderful memories of using the beach here as a child before the Wrest Point Casino was built beside it.

I taped 2 photos together to take in the whole scene,  used sparkly black alphas for the title and mounted the journalling for effect.
